Venice Day 2

We slept in really late today. We didnt wake up till 1:30! The maids had knocked and called to see if we wanted them to clean the room. lol. I had woken up earlier to use the restroom and I could feel somthing was wrong with my right eye. I look in the mirror and my entire face is swolen from my algeries...I looked like a baby with huge cheaks. So I took an alergy pill and put a cold rag on my face. When we woke up around 1:30 it had decreased enough.
So we left the hotel to do some sight seeing. We got a calzone from this pizza place and the young guy told mom that she should be careful because its not safe to walk around with beautiful women in Venice. So that made me feel a little bit better knowing that my face couldnt have been too horribly deformed. lol. We walked throught S. Polo to the Ponte di Rialto

to get to Piazz San Marco and Doge's Palace.

 (View from our room^^)
When we got there I was a little dissapointed because the whole place was covered in scafolding.....I dont know why they were doing all that restoration in the middle of high season. They should do it in the winter. But it was still beautiful....the parts I could see. We saw a place across the river that we decided to go to but once we crossed the Ponte Dell'Accademia mom was tired so we walked through Dorsoduro and S. Polo because we saw a store earlier that we wanted some things from. Then we went back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.
We went to this small place really close to the hotel and had some really good food. Mom had shrimp and polenta and spagetti with crab meat. I had proscuto with cream chesse, pasta with red sauce, and a steak. We shared this really delicious pudding thing that was a typical vientian dessert. While we were waiting for the bill there was a lady talking to the owner in Italian and I could understand their conversation...so that was cool :)

After we walked around looking for a Gondola ride and found one on accident after we had given up :) It was really nice to see the city and have to walk all round. We finished our wine on the boat. lol. I tried to teach her a little italian, but that was just comical. :D
