Matera

Thursday we had class from 10:30 to 1 and after we were leaving to Termini to catch our train. So I had to go to class with all my stuff from the weekend, which sucked. We got food from the supermarket and ate a sandwich and went to Termini and got on the train :) The train ride wasnt too bad. We talked to an Italian guy and drank some wine.  After we got off we almost missed the bus, but got on it in time. We at dinner at L'Arturo for dinner. There was a beautiful spread of meat, cheese, and bread and we all had some wine. It was delicious :) After we headed to the hostel. And got settled in. We are all in the same room, 15 of us. It was really nice. Its like the modern art museum in Ft. Worth that I learned about it ARC and society. It had 2 tubes of space and there are bunk beds placed in cubbys. Im sharing a bunk with Megan. After we all got ready we went down to the piazzia and had a drink. We were talking to a group of Italians. Then we came back and stayed up around 1 because the hostel has a curfew and talked till about 2:30

Woke up pretty early on Friday bc we were having breakfast. I had two wonderful croissants and a cappuccino looking over a wonderful view of the mountains.

The were cows and a hearder. We could her the cow bells ringing fromt the hostel. We meet up at 11 and went to a modern art museum. At the museum i liked 3 different pieces. The first looked like hearts stacked on each other and was called walking man. The second was one called ambigiuty and was like a 3D swril that was black and sparckley. And the 3rd was called diolague and was a black marble scuplture of a husband and wife with a baby in one piece....they are all connected. I had a quattro formaggi pizza for lunch in our usual piazzia.

Met this really cool girl Kelsey who got the same thing I did.

After had gelato

went back to the room to chill for a bit. After we met up at 4 and went around the city and looked at different parts of the city. We went to Sassi and got some history of the place. It is completely carved out of a mountain. The city is made up of caves and as they were digging out homes they would cut bricks that were used to construct the facades of the buildings.

We went to a wonderful dinner and came back to the room.
